Milo Meet Up

While MSSM has held flagship events such as MGames and MNight for many years, our committee also strives to set new traditions, one being through holding new events. Milo Meet Up is a laid back social event for members to meet new people, make new connections and have a conversation over some milo, snacks and games. This event was so well received by our members that we held not only one, but two Milo Meet Ups this year, and we plan to hold more in the future.

Milo is a drink that brings Malaysians together, as it reminds us of our childhood, and has classed itself as a staple or comfort drink to many of us. Therefore, although it is severely overpriced in Manchester, we provided Milo to our members so they can feel that familiar taste of home. The flow of the event was super casual, where attendees had the freedom to socialise and relax after a long day of classes. Milo Meet Up 2.0 featured some new board and card games, and some members even bringing their own games to share structured the night like a mini game night.

Milo Meet Up is an event that is free for members, with a small charge of 1 pound for non members. While we don’t wish to discriminate against non members, we want to ensure benefits for our members, and events like these help to foster a tight knit community for Malaysians here in Manchester.

We love to witness new friendships being formed, and we hope that these connections made through our Milo Meet Ups continue to develop into long lasting friendships. We hope that our members enjoy these type of laid back events, and we are excited to hold more new and improved versions of Milo Meet Ups in the future.
