On the radiant evening of 12th November 2023, the members of MSSM gathered at the enchanting Akbar’s in Liverpool Street to revel in the joy and festivity of Deepavali. The venue buzzed with excitement as members, both seasoned celebrants and those experiencing Deepavali for the first time, joined in for a spectacular Deepavali Dinner.
As the doors of Akbar’s swung open, members were greeted by a sight reminiscent of a Harry Potter Banquet – a long, beautifully adorned table reserved exclusively for MSSM. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation, and the aroma of Indian spices hung in the air.
The crowning jewel of the evening was an extravagant feast that unfolded before the eager diners. The culinary journey commenced with a grand mixed platter, a tantalizing preview of the gastronomic delights to come. The main course presented a tough choice with two mouthwatering options: the creamy indulgence of Butter Chicken and the aromatic spice of Dry Chicken Masala. Catering to our vegetarian members, the menu featured the comforting embrace of Dhal Tadka and the velvety richness of Palak Paneer.
As the night drew to a close, an air of anticipation filled the room, and the excitement reached its peak with the announcement of the Lucky Draw winners. Yes, you heard it right – there was a lucky draw, adding an unexpected thrill to MSSM’s Deepavali Dinner. A total of 6 lucky individuals had their Deepavali celebration sweetened with a Gong Cha voucher, adding a sweet element to their night.
