咚咚咚呛! 新年快乐! Once more, the streets are alive with the soft glow of lanterns, casting a warm light on the streets of Manchester. The night sky echoes with the crackle of fireworks and firecrackers, marking the arrival of the Year of the Dragon.
In keeping with tradition, the Malaysian Students’ Society of Manchester joyously hosted its annual Chinese New Year dinner. Once again, the beloved The Red Chilli Restaurant along Oxford Road played host to the festivities, promising a delightful evening of delectable cuisine and lively celebrations.
As guests streamed in, the air buzzed with chatter, filling the tables with warmth and fellowship. Each attendee was greeted with a vibrant red packet, containing a special MSSM bill, adding an extra touch of uniqueness and excitement to the occasion.

The feast began as an array of dishes graced the tables, from steamed fish to the classic favorite of sweet and sour chicken, and a myriad of other delights in between. Rest assured, not a single member left the venue with an empty stomach, as laughter and conversation flowed freely amid the shared enjoyment of each flavorful bite.
In true MSSM fashion, the night concluded with an exhilarating lucky draw, adding an extra dose of excitement to the already vibrant atmosphere. With five prizes up for grabs, lucky winners were thrilled to take home cash prizes ranging from £5 to £20, ending the evening on a high note of joy and celebration.
For the freshers experiencing their first Chinese New Year away from home, our heartfelt wish was to fill the void with the comfort of delicious food and the welcoming embrace of community.
