In a collaborative effort with UKEC, MALECS, LMS, and LUMSS, the Malaysian Societies of the North West region joined forces once more for our highly anticipated annual regional event. This year, our focus honed in on a pressing issue affecting not just Malaysians studying in the United Kingdom, but Malaysians worldwide: Financial Literacy.
Kicking off the event, attendees delved into breakout sessions tailored to their level of expertise. For those at the entry level, the session delved into the fundamentals of financial literacy, exploring topics such as the Investing Mindset, ASNB, and KWSP. Simultaneously, an intermediate-level session delved deeper into subjects like Stocks and the Foreign Exchange Market, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of financial principles.

A highlight of the event came in the form of a session led by one of our esteemed MSSM members, Ilham, who shared his passion for Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies. Ilham’s insightful presentation not only shed light on the intricacies of this evolving financial landscape but also sparked engaging discussions among participants.
To further bridge the gap between students and finance, Ilham ingeniously introduced a game titled “Breaking the Hault!” The interactive game served as a fun and engaging way to demystify complex financial concepts, making them more accessible and digestible for all attendees.
Through a combination of informative sessions and interactive activities, the event successfully empowered attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the realm of finance with confidence. It was a testament to the power of collaboration and education in addressing critical issues facing our community, reaffirming our commitment to fostering financial literacy among Malaysians, both at home and abroad.
