On 22nd November 2025, the Malaysian Students’ Society of Manchester (MSSM) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Roscoe Building Theatre A. Running from 11:00am to 6:00pm, the AGM brought members together for one of the most meaningful days in the society’s event calendar.

The AGM began with opening speeches from the outgoing President, Deena Faisal, and the incoming President, Max Ng Tze Khai. This was followed by the Secretarial and Financial Reports, which highlighted MSSM’s achievements over the past year and provided a clear overview of the society’s finances. These reports reflected the hard work and dedication of the outgoing committee.

The event then moved into the election segment, where candidates presented their ideas and goals to the members. Each candidate was given four minutes to share their vision, followed by a ten-minute question-and-answer session. This format allowed members to better understand each candidate’s leadership style, ideas, and ability to think under pressure. The sessions showcased the passion and commitment of those stepping forward to serve the society.

At the end of the day, a new committee was elected. The incoming committee includes Max Ng Tze Khai as President, Aviennash A/L Kannan as Vice President, Nur Hannah Binti Hamidon as General Secretary, Arshad Malik as Treasurer and Umar Fazlan as Sponsorship Director, supported by a strong team of directors, officers, and event coordinators.

MSSM also took the time to thank the outgoing committee for their service and dedication. The AGM concluded on a hopeful note, marking a fresh chapter for MSSM. With new leaders in place, the society looks forward to another year of growth, teamwork, and meaningful events. ✨🎉
