1. Any recommended grocery stores with affordable prices?
• Lidl and Aldi are the cheapest UK supermarket chains around.
• You can find Aldi at Arndale and Lidl is situated in both Rusholme and Piccadilly Gardens (in the city centre).
• Other supermarkets / grocery stores include Spar, Morrisons, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, and Asda.
• You can also save money at Tesco (located on Oxford Road and Rusholme) by getting a Tesco Clubcard.

2. Where can I get halal or international food?
• If you live near Rusholme, halal butchers are fairly easy to spot.
• Halal grocery stores: Worldwide, Superstore (these two are relatively cheaper but might not have everything you’re looking for)
• Some Tesco chains carry halal meats in-store as well.
• Asian supermarket: W.H. Lung at Upper Brook St., Oriental Supermarket at Oxford Rd., and a few in Chinatown like Hang Won Hong and Wing Fat Supermarket
• Stores such as W.H. Lung and Oriental Supermarket are relatively more expensive as their products are imported from Asian countries. Note that not all of their products are halal either!
• You’re likely to save more by buying ingredients that do not require halal certification at Lidl such as vegetables and fruits.
