1. What is the living cost look like per week?
• Living costs vary depending on factors such as if you decide to eat out or cook at home. On average, a standard week of groceries ranges from £15-£30 while a meal outside cost roughly £5-£15.
• Another factor to take into consideration: Self-catered vs catered accommodation. Self-catered accommodation tends to be cheaper as meals are not provided but you will have to either cook or eat out.
• A tip would be to look out for student deals at restaurants / supermarkets. Often, many places offer deals and discounts for students. One example would be Tesco, where “Club-card” deals save you quite a bit!

2. What do bills and finances look like for a student?
• Accommodation bills depend on where you live and whether utility bills are included. Make sure to check with your accommodation regarding this matter.
• Tuition fees vary according to your course and you will be required to indicate if you want to pay in instalments or in full at the beginning of the academic year. The easiest way to pay in instalments would be direct-debit. This can be done through your bank once you have set up your bank account. Other methods of paying would be credit card / bank transfer. If you need more information about university finances, contact the Student Services Centre (ssc@manchester.ac.uk). Remember to include your student ID and full name in the email to facilitate the process!

3. How much should I allocate per month to live comfortably in Manchester?
