1. Is there a detailed checklist of what to bring to the UK?
• Important photocopied personal documents such as birth cert, IC, passport, insurance documents, accommodation-related documents etc. (better safe than sorry!)
• Prescribed / traditional medications
• Stationeries (usually more expensive in the UK)
• Shoes / clothings / accessories
• Electronics (usually more expensive in the UK)
• Some money (cash & card) as it might take a while to set up your bank account in the UK
• (Dry) Malaysian Food (e.g. snacks, instant noodles) / packet seasoning (if you’re a fan of nasi lemak, consider bringing fried/dried anchovies!)
• Travel-sized toiletries (for temporary use when settling down, you can buy the rest in the UK)
• Traditional clothing (personal preference, considering there will be celebrations throughout the academic year)
• Travel adapter (especially if you’re planning to travel out of the UK during breaks)

2. Are things generally cheaper to get from the UK?
• Things are generally more expensive in the UK (such as electronics, stationeries, medication etc.).
• However, prices can go really low during sales like Black Friday and Christmas sales
• The best part of your student ID is that you can use it to get student discounts from shops!
• Download student discount apps like Unidays and StudentBeans; Amazon Prime has a free 6-month trial for students
• For people wearing spectacles or contact lenses, bring a spare as it can be expensive to buy them in the UK
• Winter gears, especially boots and coats, are cheaper and have more varieties in the UK, but to be safe, bring at least one set of winter essentials such as heat tech and sweaters.
• Pro-tip: Uniqlo heat-tech is also cheaper in Malaysia.
• If you can’t fit a lot of winter jackets in your luggage, don’t worry! You can still get some during sales like Boxing Day and Black Friday.
• Groceries are generally quite cheap (however, your favorite Asian vegetables / fruits / seasonings / snacks might be overpriced)

3. What necessities do I need to start living in the UK?
• Bring our recommended items above from home.
• Things to buy in the UK firsthand: SIM card, kitchenware (discuss with your flat/housemates, as some don’t mind sharing their stuff), bedding (you can actually pack bedsheets/ pillow sheets if you have extra space in your luggage to spare; if not, order from IKEA, Argos, or Wilko!), necessary toiletries (shampoo/ body soap).
