1. Where do I get my visa? What should I prepare?
We recommend referring to the university’s website for the most accurate and up-to-date procedures regarding visa-related matters, or you can visit the UK government’s website.
Your visa is normally done through VFS Global whose office hours are Monday to Friday 9AM – 5PM. They are located at Suite 19-03, Floor 19, Wisma MCA, 163 Jalan Ampang, 50450, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Main Documents Required:
• Passport
• Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from the university; contact your respective school for them to issue the CAS.
• Tuberculosis test results
Other Documents They May Require:
• Proof of Accommodation
• Proof of English knowledge (SPM / IGCSE / IELTS)
• Written consent from your financial sponsor if you’ve received sponsorship for your course fees and living costs in the last 12 months
• Flight booking; not necessary but may help expedite your application if you’re rushing for your visa
These documents can be uploaded to the your visa application portal; however, we recommend you bring them for your biometric appointment in case they ask for it. Start your application as early as possible as there are many students applying at the same time.
2. Do I need to translate any of my documents into English?
Usually, documents required by VFS would already be in English so translation isn’t necessary. If need be, however, you could get your birth certificate translated at JPJ for RM10.
3. What do I do if my visa takes longer than expected to finish and I can’t fly on time?
Your best bet is to contact the university and your specific school as soon as you receive news of the delay, as some schools have a specific date they want the students to be on campus by.
